Big Loop Bombadier

A single, long video clip where I ride the trail. Bur Mill Park, Greensboro, NC. A really good run down this friendly trail.

Owl's Roost/Big Loop Trail Maps

Ok, it's not a video, but I can't help sharing my excitement over Google's new mapping tool. Here's a map I made in about 20 minutes for a trail ride I'm hoping to go on tomorrow, if I don't freeze. It's even more impressive if you follow the link here.

Northeast Park

A look at the Northeast Park MTB trails with a musical vibe. Great trail in Gibsonville, NC.

The new MTB trails at Northeast Park in Gibsonville, NC. Northeast of Greensboro. 4.4 miles of fun. Video Sans-Soundtrack is here, for those who prefer huffing and puffing.

Very Slow Videos

We had our first successful gathering of The Old Goat's Mountain Biking Meetup today at Salem Lake. Good pace, which kept us from freezing to death in the 45 degree weather. It was actually fine if you didn't stop moving for too long. The water was the more powerful over the bridge below the damn that I've ever seen, but we all crossed successfully.

Bald Eagle Trail - Feb 22, 2007

The weather has been good to us again. Here's more cheesy video from the Bald Eagle Trail in Greensboro, NC.

Another in my series of really messed up mountain biking vid's. Noone will ask "where's the trail" in this video.

Tony Hawk Helmet Cam

Here's a short review of the Tony Hawk helmet cam that I wrote up a few weeks ago on a forum:

"Finally broke down and bought a helmet cam. Best Buy has those Tony Hawk helmet cams for only $50, online only. But Circuit City was nice enough to match their price. Sweet. The camera is lo-res, but still a lot of fun to play with. Yesterday I took it for a leisurely ride and made this flick:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7q9OxwUV-I
The camera is pretty cool, totally self-contained, and very light. Basic functions allow you to record or delete. When you aren't recording a laser pointer comes on to help you adjust the angle of the camera. The camera automatically stops recording after 15 minutes and makes a growly "errr" sound.
Documentation is sparse, but as simple as the camera is it doesn't make much of a difference. The camera comes with a 32 Mb SD card which is probably good for six minutes of video. I used the 1 Gb card from my cell phone and the batteries (2xAA) died way before I ran out of memory. AND I just stuck the SD card into my laptop so I didn't even have to install software or mess with the USB cable. I think it can be used as a web-cam, too, but I don't have much interest in that. All-in-all very cool and fun. "

Another unseasonable beautiful day!

Ok, here is it. Called "the more horrific mtb video ever", I present to you, with apologies, January MTB Ride.

Insert Review

And if you're a real glutton for punishment, here's another really bad video.

Why ATB Videos?

1)When I started biking, the bikes routinely referred to at Mountain Bikes were often called All-Terrain Bicycles, or ATB's.

2)mtbvideos.blogger.com was already taken.

3)I posted my first ATB video recently, as a MTB video, and someone asked where the mountains were. Point taken.

I do mountain bike in the mountains, but since I don't live in the mountains I usually ride single-track in the rolling hills nearer to my home, and I also ride greenways which are paved or dirt paths. Sometimes I even ride on, gasp, pavement.
